What's New — November 2026

A Stats tab that explains the numbers in plain words, wider profile pages with a sidebar you can hide, boards and contract details on the player profile, player stats for the ChatGPT and Claude connector, and phones picking up new versions as you move around the app.

New Features

  • Ask the ChatGPT and Claude connector about a player's stats — An assistant connected to Athleads can now read a player's season stats by season, competition and team: appearances, starts, minutes, goals and assists (with per-90 figures), clean sheets and cards. It can also see how the player ranks against same-position peers, using the same metrics and peer group as the profile's Compared with peers card. That means you can put what your scouts wrote next to the numbers in one question. Only Sportmonks stats are shared. Stats your club gets through its own provider licence stay out. (ATH-1015)

Improvements

  • Phones and the app pick up new versions — On a phone browser, an installed web app or the mobile app, a new version of Athleads now loads the next time you go to another page. Before, it waited until every tab was closed. Filtering a list or opening a dialog doesn't trigger the reload. On desktop, Reload in the update prompt now always brings in the new version. Parts of the app that load on demand, like PDF export, no longer stay broken after an update.
  • The search keeps your text while you look elsewhere — Switching to another tab, window or app to check a name used to empty the search at the top of the app. Now it's still open with your text when you come back. Clicking elsewhere on the page still closes it.

Bug Fixes

  • The ChatGPT and Claude connector answers again — Requests from a connected assistant were failing with "Athleads is temporarily unavailable". It works again.
  • Clubs can save and remove their own StatsBomb login — In Integrations settings, the Save button next to Test connection wasn't showing, so a club couldn't save its login. It now shows. "Disable and delete" was also doing nothing. It now switches the provider off, and if the club's data for that provider can't be removed, a message says the integration stayed on.
  • Deleting a saved AI search works — On the Players list, deleting a saved AI search did nothing. It now removes the search and its results.
  • The "different club" hint is back — When a new team looks like a duplicate, the hint under the blocked Create button ("Confirm this is a different club to continue.") wasn't showing. It's back.
  • Lineups that arrive after kickoff are picked up — A match synced around kickoff could be marked as complete before it had lineups. It then couldn't be edited or filled from a photo, and its lineups were never fetched later. In leagues whose lineups come in just after kickoff, such as Liga Revelação U23, no match got them. Matches now stay open until their lineups arrive, and recent matches stuck this way are being retried.

New Features

  • A Stats tab that explains the numbers — The Stats tab now opens with At a glance, which shows the season's figures and then two lists, "Stands out" and "Watch for". Each list says what the player does well or less well in plain words, with a tier (Elite, Strong, Average or Weak) and the share of compared peers the player beats. Season by season charts the player's minutes and one metric that matters for the position. The season still in progress is labelled "so far". If a season has too few games yet, the tab shows the one before and says why. Compared with peers states exactly who the player is measured against: position, competition, season and minimum minutes. When there is no comparison, it says why and offers the previous season, and the mark on each bar is the middle of that group. The player PDF export has a Stats option where you choose the season, and it prints the same summary and comparison. (ATH-1002)

Improvements

  • Boards, contract and details reorganised on profiles — A player's boards now sit in a Boards card in the profile sidebar. Each board is a chip showing the stage's colour and the stage name, with the position in its tooltip, and you can add or remove the player there on boards you manage. The contract end now shows beside the club as a month and year. It turns amber when the contract ends within about six months, and a tap or hover gives the exact date and where it came from. For a player on loan, the date shows when the loan ends. Players with no club read "Free agent". On a phone, a Profile tab holds the player's details, boards and custom fields together. When you move a player to another board, the new place is added before the old one is removed, so a failed move never leaves them on no board.
  • Faster player History, in plainer words — The History tab loads faster. Stage changes read "Player moved from A to B on board X", a first placement reads "moved to B", and a stage that was later deleted is still named. Entries from boards you can't see no longer appear, so "No history" really means there is none.
  • Clearer setup for clubs using their own StatsBomb licence — For clubs that bring their own StatsBomb licence, the Integrations form now asks for the API username and password. It explains that this is the club's API login, not the StatsBomb IQ login scouts use, and that API access is a separate subscription you get through Hudl. When a connection fails, the message says why: the login was wrong, the login works but has no API access, or StatsBomb didn't respond. (ATH-998)

Bug Fixes

  • Safer formatted text — Formatted text in notes, tasks, reports and player summaries is now cleaned before it's shown, so pasted content can't run anything in a colleague's browser. Links in it open in a new tab.
  • Fairer peer rankings — Fouls and cards now rank lower when there are more of them, not higher. A goalkeeper whose goals-conceded figure is missing is no longer shown with a 100% save rate. (ATH-1002)

Improvements

  • Wider profile pages with a sidebar you can hide — Player, team, competition, fixture, organization and user profiles now use the full width of the screen. On player and team profiles, a button at the end of the tab bar hides or shows the sidebar, and the Custom fields card folds away. The app remembers both choices. The contract end date moved from the details list to sit beside the club, and the national team has its own line. On the Career tab, the totals are now a single Career totals strip with an icon for each figure. (ATH-995)
