What's New — September 2026

Connect Claude and ChatGPT to your Athleads data, write reports from a side drawer while you watch the match, notes on boards with a new Activities tab, watchlist marks on lineups, breadcrumbs, card views with fields you choose, and a round of permission fixes.

2026-09-29

Improvements

  • Faster, quieter loading in Safari and on phones — The app was loading Google's sign-in frame on every page, which Safari reported as a security error. We sign in with email and password only, so it is no longer loaded at all. (ATH-888)

2026-09-28

Improvements

  • A player profile that matches the fixture page — The player header now follows the same shape as the fixture header, and the tab toggles run the full width instead of bunching to one side. (ATH-884)
  • Activity feeds scroll cleanly — The fixture Reports tab and the team and organization activity lists were slicing a strip off the first card below the filter. All four feeds now share one scroll layout, with both edges faded so a card leaves softly. (ATH-885)

2026-09-26

New Features

  • Breadcrumbs on fixture and player pages — You can see where you are and step back up without using the browser's Back button. (ATH-873)

2026-09-25

New Features

  • Watchlist marks on lineup rows — Opening a lineup, you can now see at a glance which players you already follow: a bookmark on a green tint, lined up as its own column so the marks read down the list. (ATH-861)

Bug Fixes

  • Permission hardening across clubs — A full audit of who can read and write what, closing several ways data could cross between clubs. (ATH-847)

2026-09-24

Improvements

  • Clearer setup for AI assistants — The integrations card told you to add Athleads as a connector but not where or how. A "How to connect" dialog now gives the three steps with the connector address as a copy field. The consent screen lists exactly what an assistant can read, that it can change nothing, and which organizations it covers, instead of burying that in prose. (ATH-615)

2026-09-22

New Features

  • Connect Claude and ChatGPT to your Athleads data — Add Athleads as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT, sign in with your Athleads account, and ask questions about your own scouting data: players, fixtures, reports, boards, tasks and schedules. It is read-only, so an assistant can never change or delete anything, and it only ever sees what your own account can see. Your organization decides whether this is allowed at all — it is off until an administrator turns it on, and connected apps can be reviewed and disconnected from Integrations settings. (ATH-608)

Improvements

  • Drafting a report is the primary action — Save Draft now leads and Publish Report stands beside it, so a half-finished report is the expected outcome rather than an accident. Pressing Enter in a field can no longer publish, and draft report circles are outlined rather than ticked.
  • Finishing your reports closes your schedules — Once Finish all leaves no draft of yours on a fixture, your open schedules for that match are marked complete, matched by report type.

Bug Fixes

  • Writes and account details can no longer cross between clubs — Closed several holes found against a live system: a report could be moved into another club and credited to someone there, and account details including email addresses were readable more widely than they should have been.
  • Provider players stay out of "Only created" — Players that later became global records were showing as created by every organization.

2026-09-21

Improvements

  • New items land where the sort says they belong — A task, report, note or fixture you create now appears in its correct place in a sorted list, rather than at the top until you refresh. (ATH-831)
  • Clearer report dock toggle — The control that expands the report dock on a fixture is now a proper button with the same dropdown caret used everywhere else, and the ring around the report you're editing is no longer clipped.

Bug Fixes

  • Hovering a board title no longer greys out the whole header — The highlight now hugs the board's name instead of stretching across the page.

2026-09-20

New Features

  • Write reports from a drawer while you watch — Tapping a player's report cell on a fixture now opens the report in a side drawer (full screen on a phone) instead of a dialog, so the lineup stays in view. Switch to another player mid-report and your notes are saved before the drawer moves on; come back and you pick up the same report rather than starting a new one. (ATH-828)
  • Your reports for the match, at a glance — A dock on the fixture shows a circle for every player you've written about, grouped by team, with drafts and published reports marked differently. The lineup rows carry the same marking, so you can see who you've covered and who you haven't. (ATH-828)
  • Finish all — Review every report you've written on a fixture in one list and publish them one by one or all at once. A report without a rating can't be published, and the dialog tells you which ones need one. (ATH-828)

Improvements

  • A steadier Activities tab — The board's Activities tab now uses the same toolbar, sorting and view controls as the rest of your lists, and the toolbar stays put as you switch between All, Tasks and Notes.

2026-09-18

New Features

  • Notes on boards, and a new Activities tab — Add notes to a recruitment board, optionally linked to a player. The board's Tasks tab becomes Activities, showing tasks and notes together with an All / Tasks / Notes filter, and existing Tasks links and bookmarks still open on the Tasks filter with their filters intact. (ATH-687)
  • A way back after declining push notifications — Tapping "Don't Allow" on the iPhone prompt used to be a dead end, with instructions that didn't actually work. The app now checks again when you return from Settings, turns notifications on automatically once you've allowed them, and adds an "I've enabled it" button, with directions specific to iPhone, Android or your browser. (ATH-829)

Improvements

  • Notification preferences fit a phone — The preferences grid stays a grid on every screen size, with the channel names pinned while you scroll, compact switches, and "All email" moved into its own row. While it's off, the per-category email switches are greyed out, since they no longer decide anything.

Bug Fixes

  • Sync External Player works again — Linking a player to their Sportmonks record failed for most players with an unreadable "internal error". It now links correctly, and when a link genuinely can't be made you get a message that says why. (ATH-830)

2026-09-15

Improvements

  • A mobile pass across the app — The Fields and Filter drawers and the task form were painting behind the page on a phone, so content showed straight through an open panel. They now sit above it. Tapping a field inside a dialog no longer zooms the page in and leaves it there.
  • The mobile toolbar fits the screen — Controls were overflowing the row; the view switch collapses to a single cycling button on small screens, the result count stops widening its button, and every control now sits on one consistent line starting at the left edge.
  • Tidier fixture rows — The competition now reads above the two teams everywhere rather than below them in one layout, and a fixture hugs its own width instead of stretching the two clubs to opposite ends of a wide card.

Bug Fixes

  • The filter panel's date field fills its row — It stopped short at a fixed width, leaving its remove button stranded in the middle of the row. Text filter chips now clear with an X the way the dropdowns beside them already did, and picking from a multi-select clears the text you typed so it can't read as a filter that didn't take.
  • Save-view dialogs show their field labels — Saving a view or an AI search run presented a bare, unlabeled box.

2026-09-14

Bug Fixes

  • One click does one thing — Clicking a player, user, team or fixture inside a card or row used to both open its dialog and navigate away, so the dialog flashed past on the way to another page.
  • Player observations stop being filed as match reports — The All/Players/Match filter on a fixture's Reports tab was leaking into the create dialog, so a player report could be written against a match template and then rendered as a match report. The 42 affected reports on production have been repaired. Two fixes came with it: text typed while a report is saving is no longer marked as already saved and silently dropped, and a report missing its metadata no longer blanks the fixture's activities list.
  • Adding a player who is already in the lineup — They used to disappear from the picker entirely, which reads as "this player doesn't exist" and sent people to Create Player, minting a duplicate. They're now shown greyed out with the reason, and the dialog stays open with a clear message instead of closing on the error.

2026-09-13

Improvements

  • Cards scan better — A report's ratings, a task's priority and a schedule's status now sit on the card head beside the title, so you can read straight down one column instead of hunting through the body. Report cards stopped repeating the same value in three places, and on a phone the title drops below the subject rather than being squeezed to nothing.
  • Card defaults tuned to real data — Main Position is on by default for player-led report views, and Players leads with Nationality instead of Foot. Both remain in the field picker either way.
  • Card footers fit — The timestamp was being clipped while the email beside it ran to full width.
  • Cards work with a screen reader — The card checkboxes and the head markers now name the field they carry, and the card text meets AA contrast.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a crash on the Schedules view.

2026-09-11

Improvements

  • Faster Reports list — Each report's template is resolved once per row instead of repeatedly. (ATH-826)

Bug Fixes

  • Calendar days stay on the same day everywhere — A scheduled day could render as the day before or after depending on the viewer's timezone. (ATH-827)

2026-09-10

New Features

  • Card views, with the fields you choose — Reports, Tasks, Players and Schedules now share one card layout, and you pick which fields appear on the card the same way you already pick table columns. Your selection is yours alone. (ATH-822)

2026-09-08

Improvements

  • Dashboard cards use the saved view's sort — A view led with a different row on the dashboard than on its own page, because the card ignored the sort stored with the view. The card header now also says how the list is ordered, so two views differing only in sort no longer look identical.
  • Drafts are easy to spot — Draft reports get a dashed outline and an amber badge, and the submit button reads "Finalize Report" when the draft already exists rather than offering to create it again. Saving a draft is no longer offered on an already published report, where one click quietly unpublished it.

Bug Fixes

  • Report bubble tooltips are back — Every report bubble across the list, board and table views had lost its tooltip.
  • Drafts are protected from everyone but their author — An unfinished draft is only readable by the person writing it, but teammates with workspace or organization admin rights could still edit or delete one. Writing now follows the same rule as reading.

2026-09-06

Bug Fixes

  • Tighter data scoping — A round of permission fixes: player visibility now follows who owns a record rather than who created it, activity feeds are scoped to the workspace they belong to, comments are scoped to the item they hang off, and email addresses are no longer readable without signing in. (ATH-820, ATH-821, ATH-822)

2026-09-03

New Features

  • Multi-sort and a query summary across list views — Tasks, Reports, Players, Schedules and Fixtures can now be sorted on several fields at once, and a summary pill above the list spells out exactly how it is filtered and sorted. (ATH-790)

2026-09-02

Improvements

  • Global search resolves records you already hold — A team, player or fixture already in your workspace is shown as yours rather than duplicated as an external result, and exclusions now follow provider identity so a hidden record can't return under its other name. (ATH-819)

Bug Fixes

  • Any organization member can refresh a player's stats — Editors saw the refresh button on the Career and Stats tabs but the request was rejected, which surfaced as a confusing permissions error. Both sides now agree on membership.

2026-09-01

Bug Fixes

  • A multi-select clears its search when it closes — Picking three competitions left the typed text sitting in the box afterwards, reading as a filter that hadn't taken.
